Why technology law? "Perhaps more technology than law," was one comment at the defence of my master's thesis, catchily titled Practical Applications of Blockchain Technology. It ended up with an A, so it didn't hurt much, and looking back, that sentence describes me pretty well. Technology law offers exactly what I enjoy. There are contracts for software development and implementation, SaaS and licensing, where I first have to understand how the thing actually works. There are negotiations, which get much shorter when the contract makes sense for both sides (yes, I believe in win-win). And on top of that, there's the ever-growing alphabet soup of EU digital regulation: GDPR, AI Act, DSA, Data Act, and a new one every year. I particularly enjoy working with promising founders and game studios. In my free time I play sports, or (these days, wisely) just watch others play video games at world championships.
