As a young boy, I loved digging in the dirt, searching for earthworms, and spending whole days bathing them in the river until they were discovered by a big fish. My uncle dissuaded me from studying fish farming, saying that if I studied law instead, a whole barrel of premium rum would be waiting for me somewhere in the Caribbean. The rum is still aging, I am studying law, and my uncle must be saving up. In any case, he set me on a path I had never considered before, and for that, I am grateful. Now, instead of digging in the dirt, I delve into interesting legal cases and try to solve them. When I joined the firm, I quickly began to acquire basic legal skills, but most importantly, I developed a love for the profession. I chose to work in the public law department, where I mainly focus on public procurement, construction and environmental law. I am still looking for the specialisation of my life, but I feel I am getting closer. And I still like to go fishing.
